Financial Aid Information


Hiwassee College will provide competitive financial aid packages for all continuing and new students.

Following determination of the student's applicable tuition, fees, room, and board, Hiwassee College will, for the students in the on campus program:

  1. Provide institutional aid as appropriate and available
  2. The student/family will bear responsibility for the balance of obligations not covered by financial aid (this is the same as for any other institution.) Hiwassee will work with families to identify other payment options.
  3. Arrangements for paying all obligations must be in place with the Business Office by the first day of classes each semester.

Hiwassee College is an applicant institution with the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [PO Box 328, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone: 434.525.9539; e-mail: info@tracs.org], TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Hiwassee College is listed by the University Senate of The United Methodist Church. The senate is an elected body of professionals in higher education created by the General Conference to determine which schools, colleges, universities, and theological schools meet the criteria for listing as institutions affiliated with The United Methodist Church.

Financial Aid Application Procedures

In order to be considered for financial assistance at Hiwassee College the student must:
  • Apply for admission to Hiwassee College.
  • Submit copies (if applicable) of your parents’ most recent year income tax return.
  • Complete any applicable scholarship applications; e.g., Academic, Music, Drama, etc.
