• To promote a continuing relationship of mutual benefit between Hiwassee College and its alumni.
• To strive for the growth and development of Hiwassee College.
• To encourage each former student to be an active member of this Association and an active supporter of Hiwassee College.

Duties

The Hiwassee College Alumni Association is led by a President, President-Elect, Secretary and a Board of Governors, whose duties include:

• Overseeing Alumni Association elections, awards, programs, meetings and finances.
• Upholding and, if necessary, amending the Alumni Associatin constitution and bylaws.
• Offering support and guidance to local organizations of the Hiwassee College Alumni Association.

The Awards and Honors Committee

Alumni awards are overseen by the Awards and Honors Committee, which is comprised of a chairman and six members of the Board of Governors appointed by the Alumni Association President.

Each year during the annual Alumni Awards Banquet, the Alumni Association President presents the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year award and one of the following rotating awards::

• Distinguished Community Service Award
• Distinguished Professional Achievement Award
• Christian Vocation Award

Meetings

The Alumni Board of Governors holds regular meetings during the fall, spring, at Homecoming and at any other time that may be necessary. The Alumni Association year begins January 1 and ends on December 31.
