FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION |
|
Hiwassee College will provide competitive financial aid packages for all continuing and new students.
To assist in the awarding of the appropriate financial aid package, students must have submitted a hard copy of their FAFSA report to the financial aid office. The report can be a copy of the report from any college to which you have applied. Please check to be sure the office has your most recent report.
Following determination of the student's applicable tuition, fees, room, and board, Hiwassee College will, for the students in the on campus program:
- Reduct the bill by the amount of the federal and state financial aid for which the student is eligible
- Credit the student's account for the Hope Scholarship, if eligible
- Provide institutional aid as appropriate and available
- Assist students and families by arranging options for financing the subsidized Stafford Loan portion of the financial aid package with terms comparable to the Stafford program
- The student/family will bear responsibility for the balance of obligations not covered by financial aid (this is the same as for any other institution.) Hiwassee will work with families to identify other payment options.
- Arrangements for paying all obligations must be in place with the Business Office by the first day of classes each semester.
