The Tiger’s Tale

Overview: The Tiger’s Tale is published four issues a year, two in the fall and two in the spring. Students work with a faculty advisor in various phases of newspaper production—planning, writing / editing news reports, editorials, and feature articles, laying out text and photographs. Students can volunteer or enroll in the Newspaper Practicum for one-hour of college credit each semester.

Financial Aid: A scholarship is available for the position of Layout Editor. Candidates must have a basic knowledge of page layout and photo editing programs and demonstrate a strong commitment to producing quality publications. Please contact the Admission Office for more information. Phone: 800-356-2187 or E-mail: enroll@hiwassee.edu.

Goal Statement: The purpose of The Tiger’s Tale is to serve as an independent voice for the issues that affect the Hiwassee College student body. We strive to be objective and accurate in our reporting, and fair and evenhanded in our opinions.

Dr. Curtis Chapman“If you attend Hiwassee College and like to write, I would very much like to meet you. I enjoy working with students who want their writing to be seen by a lot of people. The Tiger’s Tale not only reaches an on-campus audience but also an audience of local residents and World Wide Web users. I would also like to meet you if you are interested in drawing or advertising.”
