7 Centers of Excellence

Academic Degrees and Programs Offered

The Seven Centers of Excellence enable Hiwassee students to thrive though a process of transformational learning in key academic disciplines.  These Centers give graduates a competitive advantage by providing practical training in leadership, ethics, research, and internships.  Hiwassee College prepares students to make substantial and meaningful contributions to the spiritual, social, cultural, and economic life of their communities.

Our Centers of Excellence include programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, Business Administration, Christian Leadership, Dental Hygiene, Equine Management and Training, Equine Science, and Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts.

Hiwassee College also offers programs of study leading to the Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.

  • University Parallel Associate Degree Programs (A.A. / A.S.) - for students who plan to complete a baccalaureate degree at Hiwassee or other institution.
  • Career/Vocational Associate Degree Programs - for students who plan to enter the workforce after completion of the degree program.  See Forestry Technology (A.A.S.)
